The pandemic hasn’t stopped our fantastic pupils from getting active everyday here in Carrig NS! All classes have been working hard at improving their daily activity whilst having lots of fun. The children have been setting new goals for 2022 and completing fun, active games and challenges. Have a look below at our super Junior Infants running Christmas relays and learning some new dance moves! 3rd and 4th class competed at Christmas to see who could run the distance to the North Pole first and the Senior Classes are working towards improving their running distance in a set time.
We had past pupil Conor B come to work on our hurling & Gaelic football skills and Siobhan who gave the classes (and teachers!) amazing yoga lessons.
Also below is our brilliant Active Schools Committee 2021-22 who are busy making sure that Carrig school is promoting daily exercise and activity! All classes have individual pupil skipping ropes and some classes are now completing the Climb the Heights skipping challenge, as seen below. We are also lucky to have our halla, in which classes can complete exercise stations on rainy days. Our Daily Run challenge is also a big hit amongst our pupils and we are so proud to see an improvement in fitness levels.
Finally a huge well done to Katie S in 6th class who won our Active School slogan competition – her brilliant slogan ”Skip, Run, Have Some Fun – Lets Get Active Everyone!” embraces our schools goal at improving the activity levels and wellbeing of our pupils whilst having lots of fun!
Keep up the brilliant work everyone 🤸🏼♂️⛹🏻♀️🏒⚽️
