Mrs Keogh Junior Infants… what we’ve been up to!!

Wow… what a few weeks it has been for us in Junior Infants. Where has the time gone?!! They say time flies when you are having fun and we have definitely been having lots of fun so far and we have also been learning lots as well!!!

Students having been making great strides with their letters and sounds. We have been doing English stations every morning where students practice their writing and their sounds!

Check out some of the other different things we have been doing since we started in September …

We started off in September developing our fine motor skills….

We planted hyacinth bulbs which are now in a dark press… we are hoping that they will flower for Christmas 🤞🏻

We had a zoom class from Marina Levitina as part of Heritage Schools Week. She taught us all about wild flowers and we drew her one of her favourite flowers … the poppy 🌸

As part of Climate Action week , we had another zoom class from author Oisín McGann. He taught us all about the things we can do the protect our local environment and he read his new book “We want our Park Back”. We
also drew a hedgehog with Oisíns help!

Every day for Maths Week we played different maths activities.

We were busy doing lots of art too. Here are some of our Autumn and Halloween art and crafts. I think we have some Picasso’s in the making 🎨

We enjoyed making our family tree and exploring how much we have grown !!

We learned about static electricity and made Halloween tissue ghosts fly 👻

We also created spooky potions in an attempt to try and blow up the school!!! 💣

Students were so excited dressing up in their scary costumes on the day of midterm. They especially like trying to scare Mrs Keogh !!!!!

Happy Halloween 🎃
