We had a busy start when we came back to school in January in Rang a Ceathair! Here’s some of the fantastic work we’ve completed so far in 2020:
We learned about Early Christian Ireland in History. We wrote brilliant narrative stories based on a Viking attack on a monastery, constructed early Christian monasteries and created some beautiful illuminated letter art after looking at the Book of Kells online.
We also learned about the weather this term. We created projects and focused on climate change, particularly focusing on the Australian bushfires. We drew and painted koalas. We then wrote, edited and then typed super narrative stories based on a koala rescue. We wrote stories based on a Snow Day in Gaeilge also! Bhí siad go h-iontach!😊
We learned about the counties of Ireland with the help of a fun rap. The children each created a tourist brochure on a county, writing facts on the county’s geography, history and landmarks. Finally we’ve created some really beautiful art this term – look at our Valentines art inspired by artist Romero Britto and our amazing dragon eyes! What a talented bunch we are 😄👏🏼
