June in rang a Ceathair.

Its been a busy few weeks in rang a ceathair. As we approached our last few weeks of school we were busy researching and creating projects all about Japan. In small groups we created projects about different aspects of life in Japan. We learned so much and worked hard on our projects together.

We attended U.L Sports Arena for our school tour and the clouds did not stop our fun! We had a very active and busy day playing team sports, rafting, canoeing, swimming and having tonnes of fun on the bouncy castles. A fun filled day was had by all!

school tour 19In June, we continued our ‘teach a lesson’ classes, where the children taught the class about a topic of their choice. Fionn taught us about Rugby, Tymoteusz all about Cars, Armandas taught us how to create Origami Ninja Stars and kindly spent a whole evening making one for everyone in the class. Rory taught us about Hurling and refereed a match. Eoin, Darryl,  Tom and Matthew organised playground games. Hannah taught the class a hip hop dance . Then the lessons took a different path, with Claudia, Sophie and Caoimhe teaching us all how to make and eat Rice krispie Buns!  Clara showed us how to make S’mores and Amy, Sadhb and Maireád taught us all about the history of Ice Cream and organised an indoor ice cream picnic as the rain kept us indoors.

Sports Day was fantastic fun and the clouds certainly didn’t dampen our spirits. 6th class were our guides for the day and did themselves proud.

We kept active during Active School’s Week enjoying a visit from Simon O’ Duffy telling us all about his very interesting hobby of ‘deep sea diving’.

We enjoyed lots of outdoor games during the week and had great fun orienteering around the school.
