During second term sixth class took an in-depth look at weather including aspects such as rainfall, temperature and climate, wind pressure and the greenhouse effect.
Here are some of the activities we did.
First we made raingauges and recorded the amount of rainfall over a period of time.
We also designed and made wind anemometers using various different materials. We went outside to the playground to test the wind instruments.
Finally we designed and made mini greenhouses using milk cartons and plastic. We planted cress, watermelon, baby carrots and pumpkins. Over the Easter holidays we left them in the classroom and were delighted to see the results when we returned.
